REVITALIZATION OF THE FORMER CARL ZEISS AREA IN JENA

Revitalization of the former Carl Zeiss main plant, bringing Jena industrial wasteland back to life – this is shown by the revitalization of the former Carl Zeiss main plant, which has been converted into a modern, inner-city service center with a university, offices and shopping, gallery, hotel and underground car park.The largest conversion project of its kind in Germany was realized with a budget of around 230 million euros. 65 percent of the old and listed building structure could be preserved.
